What is going on with the construction? Well, a lot!

MUSEUM

All of the structural steel was delivered and the new museum wing is taking shape. The installation of the roof for the new entry way has started. There has been a ton of progress on the museum interior where drywall, mechanical and electrical work continues. The fire sprinkler system is also being installed.

Construction vendor, Pacific Studio, is making great progress. The audio/visual products with Weatherhead Experience Design have been reviewed and a lot of the exhibit peices are complete, packed, and ready to ship.

OUTDOORS / EXHIBITS

Most of the north side of the campus (kaiten, Parche Conning Tower, etc…) have reopened.

The seating areas in the new entryway have been poured.

Graphic packages for the outside exhibits, museum entry and all three galleries, have been reviewed.

There will be a progress review with the exhibit fabricator (Pacific Studio) and audio-visual producer (Weatherhead Experience Design) in Seattle next week

ACCESS

Our submarine will be open and available to tour throughout our renovations. Tickets may be purchased online, at the ticket counter at the Pearl Harbor National Monument, or at our ticket booth at the entry to USS Bowfin.

Our lanai and all concessions (gift shop, food service, etc.) are also open and available.

Thanks to everyone who came out for our Kamaʻāina Sunday event held earlier this month in celebration of the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Force’s 125th birthday. It was such a joy welcoming local families, students, and service members to step aboard the USS Bowfin and explore the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum grounds.

We’re so thankful for the support from our community and loved seeing so many of you enjoying the exhibits, learning something new, and spending the day with us.

We hope to see everyone again soon!
