GIVING VOICE TO THE SILENT SERVICE
USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park is the most visited submarine museum in the world. As the preeminent teller of submariner stories, we have a responsibility to educate the public and honor veterans in a way that does justice to the brave men and women of the Silent Service.
In an effort to expand our reach and impact, USS Bowfin Submarine Museum & Park is undergoing a major improvement project and renaming itself The Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum at Pearl Harbor.
The Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum at Pearl Harbor, in its updated form, will become a state-of-the-art museum and an interactive, living memorial. It will be a place for veteran submariners to take their families and share their history; a place for civilians to learn about the personal sacrifices made by service members; a place for students to explore the technologies and engineering feats that make the US Submarine Force the best in the world; a place for our local community to embrace and share it’s own story…
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
In order to maximize the impact of our project, we are looking to our submariner community for support. We are currently engaging a capital campaign that we hope will reach every submariner who has served in the Pacific Fleet.
Today, we seek your help.
A PERMANENT, PERSONALIZED PLAQUE AT PEARL HARBOR
When we designed our new museum, we wanted a unique way to recognize and honor donors. We have designed a series of submarine-shaped donor plaques that can be personalized and engraved with your name or the name of a submariner that you would like to honor. These plaques will live permanently at our museum entrance, overlooking Pearl Harbor. Anyone visiting our museum will see your generosity and legacy.
Plaques are available in three sizes, corresponding with different donor levels. Plaques are available in two colors (Gold or Silver) and three submarine shapes (SSBN, SSN, or WWII Fleet). Donors can choose a name to be engraved on the hull and, for servicemembers, the sail may be engraved with the hull number of a submarine on which they served.
Donors that pledge $3,000 or more will be permanently honored at our museum with a 12-inch submarine plaque. Donors contributing $10,000 or more will receive an 18-inch submarine. Donors above $25,000 will receive a 24-inch submarine.
Donors that pledge $10,000 or more by January 1, 2020 will also receive plaques on the Interior Campaign Donor Wall. This donor wall will live inside the museum entrance and will honor our campaign’s biggest supporters.
DOUBLE THE IMPACT OF YOUR GIFT WITH A GROUP GIFT
Individual donations in any amount will also be credited towards recognizing a submarine upon which you served.
When you make a contribution and note your affiliation with a particular submarine, we will count your donation towards a group total. For example, if three shipmates contribute $1,000 each, the ship will be represented with a $3,000 plaque on our donor wall. Your shipmates will also receive all of the benefits that correspond with that particular giving level.
Donors will receive both individual benefits and group benefits on behalf of their ship.
